Anxiety, How do You Calm Yourself as a Woman?
There are so many different ways media tries to push anxiety reduction, an ominous plague fought by almost any American today. I’ve tried it all, from prescription pills for anti anxiety, and sleep aides. I’ve tried natural products like St. John’s Wort and many other types of natural herbs and vitamins that are supposed to help with stress. I’ve also tried exercise, going to bed at the same time every night, some meditation and what not.
What have I found? Well, I found that if you are able to take a Vitamin B Complex along with regular exercise helps the best. The vitamin B’s break down with food intake (if you take on an empty stomach, nausea will ensue) and feed your nervous system with energy. Exercise? Gives you tons of improvement regardless of what you are targeting. It will aid you emotionally, physically, mentally and socially.
If you are like me, exercise is not the most exciting thing to do in my day. In fact, if I can procrastinate it, I will. However, and this is an exercise I fought, Yoga has turned out to be one of my favorites on top of walking. Every time I do yoga, my body calms down and the meditative breath/movement cycle takes your mind off of worry/anxiety and you have to concentrate on how you are moving and breathing while toning and limbering up your body. This is very revitalizing.
When I started doing Yoga, I could hardly do any of the moves and I found them frustrating. I didn’t know pose names and didn’t want to practice or take classes in front of others because I was so bad.
I found this site: MyYogaOnline.com that has a community if you want to participate, but really the best thing is you can download videos! This means you don’t even have to drive to the store and you can even watch them on your ipod if you want! It’s another site I’m happy with the navigation, and it’s inexpensive as well because you can download it!
